About Di Harding
Di Harding has been a practicing artist for over 30 years. 10 years ago she went back to college to study art, finally graduating from Manchester University with a BA (Hons) degree in Contemporary Crafts.
Since graduating Di has developed her glass structures and also explored wool and silk felt - extracting plant life as her central theme. The two mediums are occasionally combined using slumped and fused glass techniques with hand printed decals with text, enamels, frits, metals and silk felt work to create eye-catching 2D and 3D pieces.
In her large textile pieces she uses tussah silk, dyed with natural man-made dyes to create large canvas pieces. With merino wools and silks she can also make individually designed bags and scarves.
Di’s work is exhibited in shows and galleries up and down the country and for the last 3 years she has been part of Cheshire Open Studios, which fosters the bond between the artist and buyer.
